10月31日，澳大利亚维多利亚大学中学（Victoria University Secondary College）校长Genevieve Simson女士访问了我校并与我校签订协议，正式确立两校为友好学校。校长严济良在办公室亲切接见了她，办公室相关人员陪同她参观了校园。

On October 31st, Genevieve Simson, President of Victoria University Secondary College visited our school and signed a sister school agreement with our school. Yan Jiliang, headteacher of our school warmly received her in his office. Accompanied by office staff of the school, she travelled around the school campus afterwards.

严校长首先对Genevieve Simson女士的到来表示了欢迎，并简要向她介绍了学校的历史、发展历程、学校特色和学校近几年国际交流情况。下午Genevieve Simson女士在高二3班饶有兴趣的上了一节课，她利用大约15分钟简要介绍了澳大利亚维多利亚大学中学，大部分时间留给了学生就感兴趣的问题进行提问，我校学生的流利口语、从容大方、文明举止、乐观向上等给Genevieve Simson女士留下了深刻印象。

Mr. Yan first expressed his warm welcome to Ms. Simson. He then briefly introduced to her the school history, its development, running characteristics and international exchanges in recent years. In the afternoon, Ms. Simson delivered an interesting lecture in grade Classe 3 Senior Grade 2. She spent about 15 minutes briefly introducing her school, leaving most of the remaining time for questions. Our students’ fluent oral English, calmness and elegance, civilized manners, optimistic attitudes left Ms. Simson a deep impression.

Genevieve Simson女士通过中国江苏省教育国际交流服务中心（苏教国际）和澳大利亚维多利亚教育厅共同组织的校长论坛了解了我校。在苏教国际牵线帮忙下，扬州大学附属中学和维多利亚大学大学中学双方决定建立友好关系，在推动校际交流基础之上加强更为广泛的国际合作。31日下午，双方就具体合作项目达成一致意见，并签订了友好合作协议书。

Genevieve Simson got to know our school through the forum of Jiangsu-Victorian secondary school presidents jointly organized by Jiangsu Education Services for International Exchange (JESIE) and Department of Education of Vitoria. With the help of JESIE, High School Affiliated to Yangzhou University and Victoria University Secondary College both decided to establish friendly relations in promoting intercollegiate exchange to strengthen more extensive international cooperation. On the afternoon of 31^st, the two sides agreed on the specific cooperation projects, and signed a friendship and cooperation agreement.

Genevieve Simson女士说，中国的快速发展吸引了世界眼球，近几年，澳大利亚掀起了中文热，澳大利亚维多利亚大学中学是维多利亚州启动中文选修课程较早的学校，颇受家长欢迎。访问期间，她对我校的校园环境、校风、校训和学校精神等给予了高度评价，同时我校师生良好的精神风貌也给她留下了极其美好而又深刻的印象。

Ms. Simson said, China's rapid development has attracted world attention in recent years. As a result, the Chinese language has gained popularity in Australia and Victoria University Secondary College is one of the schools in the state of Victoria that started the elective course of Chinese appealing greatly to parents. During the visit, she gave a high evaluation to the school environment, the school style, the school motto and school spirit. Besides, the charms of our school teachers and students left her a very beautiful and fabulous impression.

澳大利亚维多利亚大学中学是2011年由三所学校合并的一所学校，学校有初中和高中两部分，制度略有不同，但管理都相当严格。Genevieve Simson女士表示，回国之后，她将在共同合作愿望基础上，尽快找到两校合作的契合点，迅速开展实质性的合作与交流。
